Innovative packaging earns accolade for Outpace
July 2008

Tim Hutchinson and Faye Hudson of Outpace with the two trophies.
Centre resident Outpace won two awards at the prestigious Starpack awards held in London.
The awards, seen as the Baftas of the packaging world and organised by the Institute of Packaging, were held at the Café Royal and Outpace won two gold awards, out of 321 entries.
Outpace was honoured for its Carrierpac, which has now been adopted by B&Q for all its kitchen worktop deliveries.
Carrierpace is a returnable and reusable system for kitchen worktops, panels, doors, mirrors, radiators and other large, flat, heavy, valuable products.
It is the ideal packaging solution to transport products that are difficult to handle, awkward to lift or prone to getting damaged.
In most cases even the slightest damage to the product means that it has to be replaced which incurs significant extra costs to remove. Carrierpac prevents this happening.
Made using 45 per cent of recycled material, it can itself be recycled at the end of its life and the judges said: “This excellent example of lateral thinking offers significant reductions in the use of valuable resources.”
