North East England recruitment company TechConsult UK is expanding into the Asian market and has already placed a number of workers on projects in Singapore and Malaysia.
Techconsult UK Ltd, based at The Wilton Centre near Redcar, Teesside, operates within the offshore, fabrication and maintenance, process, shipbuilding, and civil engineering industries, and has a large number of workers on its books, including engineers, technicians, project managers and administration personnel.
The company has already placed several key staff within projects being carried out from Singapore by Darlington-based CTC Marine Ltd, as well as number of personnel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with more to come, for international company Technip Geoproduction.
CTC Marine, an expert in projects including the laying of subsea cables, has been working in Asia for some time. Technip is one of the companies which secured a contract from Petroliam Nasional Berhad to work on a floating liquefied natural gas unit, which will have a capacity of one million-tonnes a year and be located in Malaysia.
Steve Guest, TechConsult UK Managing Director, said: "There is increasing confidence in a lot of the sectors in which we work and a growing feeling that the Asian marketplace is one of those areas that present a lot of opportunities.
"Our candidates have the kind of skills required for the projects being carried out in Asia and we have already placed a number of key people with companies operating there and expect to place more in the months to come."
Ian Marshall, who is the Principal Recruitment Consultant with TechConsult UK, said: "The Asian market presents exciting opportunities for TechConsult UK. The candidates who are registered with us are highly skilled and their abilities are much in demand in Asia."
