Spreading the word about foreign markets
A team of twelve chemical sector specialists visited The Wilton Centre at the end of September to advise companies on growing their business in overseas markets.
The specialists, part of UK Trade & Investment overseas network, visited Centre resident NEPIC to meet with representatives of a number of North East companies on a one-to-one basis.
Their visit was part of an initiative designed to help businesses learn more about the opportunities offered in trading in a number of countries, some of which they might not have considered before.
On hand were representatives from countries including Finland, the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Serbia, South Korea, Syria, Jordan and the rapidly emerging economy of India.
During the visit, the specialists, who work in the fields of chemicals, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, staged a series of 20-minute appointments at which they offered advice on breaking into such markets.
