The North East Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) has moved into bigger offices at the Wilton Centre after experiencing a period of significant growth.
The organisation, which has been expanding the services it can offer to its members, has set up on the H2 corridor.
NEPIC is a members’ organisation with the main goal of helping to grow the business of the 200 chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the North-East.
CEO Dr Stan Higgins said: “We have recently launched our strategy for growth, explaining how the process industry can grow from £9 billion to £14 billion in the region over the next 10 years, perhaps creating a further 20,000 jobs in the industry.”
The strategic document was created by a team of industrialists within the NEPIC GDP Growth and Investment Team.
There are six other teams comprising 80 of the region’s top industrialists, who are working through NEPIC on trade development, innovation, productivity, marketing and communications and skills and education issues.
On behalf of these industrialists, NEPIC is creating a one-stop shop for the industry and organisations such as DDA, PICME, CITO, NESHEP, UKTI, Business Link and One NorthEast, which will be accessible via the new office on corridor H2.
